Theology of the Body Conference

"The human body... includes, right from the beginning... the capacity of expressing love, that love in which the person becomes a gift and - by means of this gift - fulfills the meaning of his being and existence.”
Blessed John Paul II, General Audience of January 16, 1980

Pope John Paul II devoted five years at the beginning of his pontificate to in-depth Scriptural reflections on the meaning of human love and sexuality in light of the mystery of Christ.  He applies this magnificent vision of the human person and the concept of total self-giving to the vocations of marriage, single and consecrated celibate life.
